PanFam Drops A Raitaru in Provi, Provokes 121b loss Battle

Reports came in to the INN News Desk earlier today about action in 3D-CQU involving PanFam and the Provi-bloc alliances with CVA at the helm. CVA did wind up destroying their target, but at a heavy cost. We got the lowdown from CVA FC Jin’taan, as well as PL FC Killah Bee.

PL Goes Out Lookin’ For A Fight, Gets One

Sometimes if you want a fight, you’ve just gotta go out and look for one. With that in mind, SniggWaffe wanted a good fight, and they knew just the place where they could get one. They had already tested the waters with alt corp Wood Industries, so they were fairly certain of how Provi would react. They dropped a Raitaru in 3D-CQU and awaited the inevitable reaction.

Jin’taan tells us that CVA had a pretty good idea of what was going on, knowing well ahead of committing to the battle that Wood Industries was a PL alt corp. CVA and a group of Provi-bloc alliances formed up and jammed 3D-CQU in advance of PL showing up, forcing them to use gates to get their fleet in to defend the Raitaru. Having received intel about the PL fleet’s composition, CVA formed a fleet that Jin’taan admits could’ve had better numbers, but should’ve potentially had the advantage in terms of caps.

Fortune Favours The Bold

Jin’taan admits to being hesitant to committing caps after recent losses, and had decided that based on the reports on the PL fleet’s comp that he would perch carriers at 70km. This wound up being a tactical error upon the arrival of the PL fleet, as their numbers had apparently grown from what were reported. PL dreadnoughts immediately went for the CVA carriers, while the PL and WAFFLES Machariel fleet had the Provi-bloc Machs pinned down. With PL dreads having melted away the CVA FAXes, the Provi-bloc fleet chose to retreat and reship.

CVA still felt like they had a chance to get the Raitaru, however. They had a tried and tested Cerberus doctrine which was great for destroying Citadels while under fire from a persistent enemy force. They reshipped into their Cerberus doctrine, and headed straight back out to 3D-CQU to smash the citadel! Unfortunately for the Provi-bloc fleet, PL  seemed to have been ready for something like this, and teamed up with Bombers Bar to bring a number of Stealth Bomber wings to the party. Jin’taan himself was headshot early on, but the CVA fleet did indeed manage to destroy their target.

PanFam definitely won the ISK war in this one, losing a total of 11b to 103b lost on the Provi-bloc side of things. Though the Providence alliances stuck to their guns and got that Raitaru killed at all costs, the price was pretty hefty. On the other side, props to PanFam on a strategic landslide of a victory. They seemed to have Provi-bloc’s number around every turn for this one, and Killah Bee made it sound like it was just another day at the park.

Keep your eyes on INN for more breaking news!

Thanks to Jint’aan and Killah Bee for their insight on this battle.
